Wear Your Fourth of July Sneakers Because America!

July 4th is right around the corner, so while everyone is figuring out what they’re going to do, you’re figuring out what you’re going to wear.

That brings us to the importance of a crisp pair of “wear once” sneaks to look good while you’re eating barbecue ribs, drinking Budweiser (or literally any other American beer), watching fireworks displays, and celebrating Freedom. What are you going to break out for the 4th of July party?

Nike Basketball released their “4th of July Basketball” pack online and in-store  Saturday, June 27. The pack offers not one, but four different sneakers to choose from, so if you feel like taking homing strictly basketball, you’re covered.

The LeBron 12, the Kobe X, the KD 8, and the Kyrie 1 are each done up with a patriotic theme in mind, featuring a heavy Stars and Stripes motif. If you do grab one of these, try one of our 3M reflective laces, available in red, white, and blue and  be sure to pop when the sun sets.

Also dropping in time comes the ASICS Fourth of July inspired pack. The “Bottle Rocket” Gel Lyte III is a collaboration between ASICS, rapper Wale, and East Coast retail chain Villa.

Who better to bring into this partnership than prolific sneakerhead, and Washington D.C. native Wale? Wale is literally from our Nation’s capitol, so he’s bringing the July 4th heat.

The Bottle Rocket Gel Lyte III comes in a premier, black suede upper with you guessed it—red, white, and blue accents hidden throughout the shoe. The insole are mismatched, with in a monochromatic Stars and Stripes pattern in each shoe.

But the key feature on these is the white footbed with a subtle red and blue speckle, almost reminiscent to fireworks. So if you’re out in the streets at 2am, popping off actual bottle rockets, the Gel Lyte III’s will make a lot of sense.

But not every sneaker has to be explicitly “Stars and Stripes” themed to complete your Independence Day outfit. While the Lebron 12’s will leave no room to guess what you love the Fourth of July, they literally an American flag imprint on them. So if you’re that dude who's guy to kill it with those, more power to you.

But take for example, the Air Jordan 6 Retro Low “Infrared,” these can fit into any 4th of July look without being too obvious. Yet, these are being released on Saturday, July 4, so be sure to stop by your local sneaker spot on the way to the function.

The red and blue hints are subtle, just popping out of the footbed with straying too far into full-on American flag territory. The outsole has a transparent blue finish that perfectly matches the red supportive air unit. If you want to add a little more Independence Day to these, try these or these, and you’ll be ready to celebrate America’s birthday with the best of them.
