We Love Our Rope Laces on Custom Yeezys
We love Yeezy’s around the Lace Lab. But we love custom Yeezy’s even more, so much so that we have a full range of Reflective Rope Laces and Rope Laces made specifically so you can switch up your Yeezy’s whenever you want. Now you might be asking yourself, “These are the hardest shoes to get! Why would you do anything to them?” Well maybe that’s the point. It’s like someone painting a Lambo lime green; it’s already a rare car, so why not show everybody that you have one? That could be the reason why people are customizing their Yeezy’s into something else entirely.

But one of the best parts about the recent Yeezy Boost 350 V2 drops is the customs coming out of each batch, seeing as this is the hardest sneaker to cop. Speaking of each drop, simply getting a pair is near scientifically impossible (unless you know the plug/have a bot).

Kanye himself once said in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar that only 40,000 pairs are made for each drop. On the surface, that seems like a lot; it’s really not though. Split that between the 20+ different online retailers who release, plus a few dozen brick and mortars, chances of getting them are very, very slim.

So looking at chances of just getting a pair, that’s a 1 in 40,000 chance of getting a pair, without even factoring in sizes. Speaking of sizes, further divide that number down by your exact shoe size, and you get the same answer—it’s pretty much impossible to get a air without some kind of miracle, a really good bot, or pure luck. Essentially, if you get a pair of these, they’re going to stand out in a crowd. This is the beauty of supply and demand, a rare product becomes a hot product, and essentially markets itself.
The big question: why would anyone want to customize a sneaker that’s basically impossible to get at retail price? That’s stunting at it’s finest. So if you get a pair of Boost 350’s (don’t give up!), why keep them the standard? Switch them up to make them your own, and we can help with our laces!
